Vid Bavcon Kvintet is an energetic combo whose main assets are strong musicality, clockwork ensemble work and improvisational chops. Featuring a circle of friends most of whom know each other from Nova Gorica, the band members are currently studying at prestigious jazz academies across Europe. The quintet’s repertoire consists of original compositions, mainly in the spirit of hardbop, while often also venturing into other spheres of contemporary jazz. Bursting with youthful zeal, the Vid Bavcon Kvintet open up a space for dialogue – between tradition and modernity, between music and its listeners.
