Artist-in-residence: Aug.unis + Jozef Dumoulin
July 5 @ 15:30

Aug.unis + Jozef Dumoulin (SI, BE)
Boštjan Simon, saxophones, electronics; Elvis Homan, drums, electronics; Jozef Dumoulin, fender rhodes, electronics
The collaboration between Boštjan Simon and drummer Elvis Homan began in 2019 within the context of Homan’s Quartzite 4tet, and continued with improv music and dance performances at the Spider Festival, the music and dance constellation NOTA and the Gibanica Award-winning performance Resurrection 2.0, as well as the live musical accompaniment for the iconic silent film classics Häxan (1922) and HE, Who Gets Slapped (1924). In 2024, as the Aug.unis duo, Simon and Homan did a short tour of Europe (Netherlands, Germany, Austria), and played the Slovenian Sajeta and Cmakajne festivals.
For the Jazz Festival Ljubljana, the two have recruited a European jazz legend, the influential Belgian pianist and keyboardist Jozef Dumoulin, who has already worked with Homan as a guest member of his Rotterdam Electronic Improv Orchestra. Augmenting the duo format with his unique approach to sound, Dumoulin and Aug.unis are perfectly matched....
One of the three Arist-In-Residence concerts.
