Sunnysun employs a holistic approach: while he first established himself primarily as an emcee (he was Croatia’s 2010 freestyle runner-up), he has been devoting his time to DJing and producing for the last fifteen years. Known for recording Selotejp, the first mixtape of exclusively Slovenian rap music, his beats have underlined the rhymes of countless ex-Yugoslav rappers and various compilations. He has made his mark in the club scene – from house, to discok, breaks, etc. – and regularly plays reference festivals in the region and beyond. Last but not least, he produces the beats and spins records for his sister, the rapper and singer Sahareya, and is the first nose of Ljubljana’s Big Nose, a record shop that also serves as a social hub.
Sunnysun will be on the decks as the final Friday night gig, playing the perfect thematic (and dance) hip-hop set featuring strong jazz influences and samples, jazz (as well as funk!) originals, nujazz, broken beat, house, etc. With a special dedication to the legendary Roy Ayers!
