The 67th Ljubljana Jazz Festival officially opens in just two days with Pat Metheny, but the festival vibe begins today. A film screening, a photography exhibition and this year’s festival production, Pasquale Mirra: Jagged Rhythms, will set the stage for four days of outstanding jazz.
Monday, 29 June
At 8 pm, join us in the Kosovel Hall for a screening of Elevator to the Gallows , celebrating the centenary of Miles Davis’ birth. One of jazz’s greatest innovators, Davis created one of cinema’s most iconic film scores for Louis Malle’s classic.
Tuesday, 30 June
At 7.30 pm, you’re warmly invited to the opening of Face to Face, Soul to Soul, a photography exhibition by Ssirus W. Pakzad, followed by a conversation between the artist and curator Žiga Koritnik.
At 8.30 pm, the Štih Hall hosts the premiere of this year’s festival production, Pasquale Mirra: Jagged Rhythms – a unique work created especially for the 67th Ljubljana Jazz Festival. If you can’t make it on Tuesday, you’ll have another chance to catch it on Friday.
